Colin Woodard, author of American Nations: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures of North America and American Character, spoke to a group of Innovate to Motivate leaders and their guests last December. Based on his rigorous historical research, he predicted our current political divisions more than seven years ago. America’s divisions are not about politics, or liberal v. conservative, but about regions. Understanding this is the first step to improved communications and debate.
